FRIDAY FICTIONEERS

Fiery Sky Black Earth

• • •

27th February 2026

Redness rising slowly,

Blue melting into pink

Deepening into orange

Painting the sky with fire.

Black shadows multiply

Buildings painted black

Silhouettes that lighten

Closer to the west.

Small lamps light up

Spreading blue light

When the bulb in the sky goes out

The lamps on earth begin to glow.

The sun bows out on one side

Rising on the other side

Ushering in the day

Where night prevailed.

I sit in the shadows

Watching this dance of day

I take hope in the thought

That light always follows night!
