HIGH COURT PRESCRIBED WHAT TO WEAR
This new year’s day a sartorial idea laid siege to the temples of Tamil Nadu that have routinely been stormed on the count of several social and reformist ideologies. With the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court’s order prescribing a dress code for entry into temples kicking in on January 1, a routine visit gained much more significance as men, women and children were told what they had to wear. http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/tamil-nadu/tn-temples-ring-in-dress-code/article8055431.ece
Just saw a FB post that says that a law should be passed to implement the same in churches.
I thought to myself, “Boy, its obvious you don’t have teenagers! Wait till yours grow up!”
Getting youngsters attend church is in itself a task. You impose a dress code and none would even think of even of visiting it!
Youngsters have their own temples/churches/mosques – the malls and pubs. Why would they need yours!
You want your youngsters to be with you, go easy on them. Don’t nitpick but flow with the tide. Pick the right battles and save your strength. Ignore the non-essentials.. Somethings can be compromised on; others, not at all.
To my friend wanting clothing rules in church: I rather have my kids in church. Don’t you?
