I take a moment on this day
To sift my life thro’ this year.
I sense a smile, I hear a cry,
I feel a pain, I see a tear,
I smell the season change,
As I walked thro time each day!

I take a moment on this day
To look back on the way I came.
I observe the rain, I discover the shine,
I glimpse the dark night, I glory in the bright morn
As I stand and turn at the end and bend of the year!

I take a moment on this day
To count the blessings that came my way
Overtaking my sorrow, and covering my shame.
I note the gladness and joy that attended my way,
Gilding the dark cloud shadowing my dusty path,
As I traversed through each season of the year!

I take a moment on this day
To thank my God for His sovereign sway
He bore me on His wings, He wiped my tears away
He forgave my weakness, He pardoned my faults
He soothed my soul, He straightened my spirit
As I crawled and crept in anguish through each day!

I take a moment on this day
To rejoice in God for His mercy
To rest in my Lord and His grace
For thro it all I’ve heard Him say
I am with you in all you face
As you walk thro time every day!
