She walked down the narrow road, astonishing clean, restricted, hemmed in, and claustrophobic.
Concrete walls rose to sky, some painted black, other bearing kaleidoscopic patterns, no entrances or doors or welcoming windows.
The alleyway was like grim backs, phlanax of people turned away from you.
She came from wide open spaces, green meadows, distant blue mountains, open skies, and frank faces.
All serenaded and surrounded by sound of distant ringing bells.
Here, bells lay dumb, no sound just show.
She looked up to the narrow sky visible above, with a sigh of relief.
She was on an errand, not to stay!
Loved the light exhale kind of feeling looking up at the sky with her at the end – cheers to the errand – and not to stay! excellent ending

Sabina, you do a good job of creating an uncaring, cold atmosphere for this traveler. Welcome to Friday Fictioneers!

Hi Lisa, thank you.
BTW, I am not new to FF.
I joined in 2015 and wrote steadily for many years.
Then, I became busy being a writer and author.
Found time again now, and so, came back!

That alley is disturbing! I’m glad she found peace in the sky and found her way out!
