WHAT’S GOING ON!

There’s a wind of pestilence sweeping over the land,
Let’s battle against it by getting on our knees.

There’s a shadow of stygian darkness covering the land,
Let’s dispel it by lighting lamps of gospel righteousness.

There’s a flood of destruction overflowing the land,
Let’s stem it by constructing dams and dykes of protection.

There’s a conspiracy to overthrow the age-old paths of decency,
Let’s band together to return what is sensible and true.

There’s a move of the enemy and alien over the land,
Let’s war against them by storming the gates of hell.

There is the work of the Holy Spirit stealing through the land,
Let’s partner together with Him to retrieve and restore the lost!

TONGUE ON FIRE

The tongue is a fire the good book does claim,
Lighting the course of nature with hell’s own flame,
A world of evil that seeks to corrupt and maim,
The one who can tame it has nary a blame!

Small though it is, it boasts so great,
Perfect is the one who uses it not to bait.
Ships and horses can be turned the right way,
But we use it to terminate rather than create!

Stammering lips and unknown tongue the Lord did promise,
The Spirit descended with cloven tongues to astonish,
The predicted rain came on all to refresh,
Come ye thirsty to drink and be at rest!

*This week’s pic reminded me of the Apostle James’ warning about the tongue in the Bible. I was also reminded of the promise given through the Prophets Isaiah and Joel of the new tongue and language that will transform. Combined it all in this poem!

KEENING & WEANING

God puts us through the fire
To wake us to constant prayer.
It is not an instant remedy,
But a proven simple recipe!

God leads us through the crucible
To shape us on His anvil.
It sure is not easy to understand,
But a proven way to be transformed!

God walks us through the valley
To work on us thoroughly.
It may seem so dreary and queer,
But trust me, He truly does restore!

God tosses us on to stormy seas,
To prep us as His master keys.
It does sound as if He is so mean,
But sin does need a keen wean!

God causes us many a bitter tear,
To rescue us from dogging fear.
It often feels like being stranded,
But don’t worry, you’re not being abandoned!

God’s ways and thoughts, they make no sense,
To us if we don’t know His uncommon sense.
He cognizant of what its all about,
So walk in faith and not in doubt!
