Look at those birds on those wires.
Won’t they get hurt by the current coursing through them?
No, they won’t.
Why not?
They are not grounded!
What do you mean?
See, they have no earth contact.
So…?
Power passes freely through them .
If not…?
It will burn them on its way down.
Hmmm…
Why did you stop?
Just thinking.
What?
You cannot dangle between two things.
Smart kid!

You can’t dangle between two things. Right. And yet so many of us do

I’m dangling most of the time. 🙂 Therein lies my problem.

Dear Sabina,
Of course we can dangle between two things. I often do but I call it multitasking. Even now. Good one.

We call it sitting between two chairs, and that is a thing to be avoided. Good story.

Of course Rochelle. I do the same!
However, I am actually passing on a simple scientific fact and a comment:
As long as any living thing does not touch the live wire AND the ground, no harm will come. When it touches BOTH, the living thing forms a conduit for the power to pass through and as a result gets burnt up. This is a law of physics.
The next comment is that trying to keep two worlds together will prove disastrous. We may have to let go of one to gain the other.
Hope I have not offended you by my explanation!

Lily it is frightening to let go but exhilarating when we do so!

Dear Sabina,
Now that you mention it, I didn’t quite catch the concept of serving two masters. Good metaphor which does NOT offend me. A good message.

Really a smart kid. It seems some try to dangle not only between two things but even more at times. Well done, Sabina. 🙂 — Suzanne
