TIME ALONE

*Friday Fictioneers is talented group of enthusiasts penning down a story, a poem, a prose, etc., expressing their heart about a photo prompt, every week. Thanks for this week’s beautiful photo prompt © Adam Ickes.

Juanita couldn’t believe she was actually there. She threw open the windows and breathed in the fresh air. She had hoped for this, prayed for this and saved for this. After years of responding to calls of “Mummy” and “Nita” and “darling” and “dear”, she was finally  by herself.   A siesta.

She strolled along the walkway, feasting her senses on the water, plants, blue sky, birds. She could feel her tension ebbing away and her body relaxing, her heart and mind expanding in the vision of the horizon.

Finally, she thought, some time alone!

  1. Absolutely!
That picture reminded me of my time in Florida when I had a chance to visit coco beach.
That was my first TA after 17 years of family time.
I didn’t have to be anybody’s daughter, wife, mother, sister, sis-in-law etc etc.!
Thanks to my husband who take care of home, I caught my second wind to run the next season of my life.
Right now I am transitioning into my next phase of life!
Thanks for the pic and the comment! GB!

  2. Ah, I see what you mean. We were certainly on the same wavelength this week! It seems your damsel has attained her freedom, whilst mine is still yearning for it. We should get together and write alternate chapters or a novel and sequel! 🙂
