How can she talk like that to me? Who does she think she is?
What are you ranting about?
You know that problem I spoke to you about? It is a continuation of it. I am sick of trying to explain. Going to cut her out.
You know the problems she is going through. Give her some space.
Does it give her the right to target me? I am not her punching bag!
Sure. Why don’t you just bear with her?
You are siding with her against me!
I’m just saying put yourself in her shoes and have some consideration!
Exactly, always need to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes before you have the right to criticise or judge them

It’s good to be empathetic, but how much is too much. Sadly there are always two people’s feelings in any equation.

We should all put ourselves in other’s shoes to really understand where they are coming from. Well done! 🙂

Excellent piece, Spice. There’s always more beneath the surface. We need to consider that and choose our words carefully.

A lesson to be learned here. I loved the way you used dialogue to paint the picture. Lovely story!

Ooohhh, but it’s SO hard to be forbearing when someone else is being difficult! This is very well done with dialogue alone, one of my favorite styles 🙂

Dear Sabina,
Everyone has their struggles, don’t they? I believe there has to be a balance. I can see cutting the person who’s going through a battle some slack. By the same token, that doesn’t give the other person the right to take it out on someone else. Good one.

Nope. It doesn’t!
But the maturer person bears with the weaker one who does so. That’s the Biblical NT model.
This flows from a real conversation I had with husband she’s ago. He has always taught me to walk in the other person’s shoe.
I tend to be very critical of others, only aware of my point of view!
