BIRD SONG

I stand by patiently on your window sill,
All I want is for you to hear me sing!
With ears tuned to that harsh metallic ring,
You ignore me forgetting I can thrill you with my skill!

The world has hit the pause button and come to a standstill.
Will we stop to ponder and make this a prelude?
Or continue our headlong rush despite this interlude?
Heaven and earth also wait, as mankind ponders its new will!

  1. Dear Sabina,
This morning while it was still dark and I had the window open, I enjoyed the birdsong. Your poem brings back the pleasure of it. Nicely done.
    Shalom,

  2. In this very quiet period I was able to listen to the artic geese calling, we all need to reconnect with nature. It will be a big challenge to do that

  3. I’m enjoying the sunlight on the golden forsythia in my neighborhood. Took a short walk today–can’t do long ones any more!—and enjoyed the birdsong, the great reduction of traffic, and the friendly waves of neighbors doing yard work.
    This too shall pass.
