SHOPPING MADE EASY

Shopping was a hobby and pastime when I was studying, working and single. Marriage and kids didn’t stop this hobby.

As the family grew, responsibilities increased and my energy decreased. So shopping became a delight relegated to special times such as festivals, weddings and gifts.

However, when incidental costs such as for travel became high, I discovered the delights of online shopping and became an expert in it.

Online shopping is like investing in stocks or playing the stock market. To gain good returns you need to know and assess the trends and be savvy and wise as a stockbroker!

*When COVID protocol was nowhere in sight, I wrote and made a video on both offline and online shopping. In hindsight, it seems that I had been intuitive and prophetic. You can find them in YouTube: https://youtu.be/voSGMMzJgd8

NEVER EVER

Never will I know the cost,
The extent the Father went,
To create & recreate me,
First from mud & then out of sin.

Never can I understand the price,
The extent the Son went,
To redeem & rescue me
From the powers of darkness & strife.

Never do I realise the estimate,
The extent the Spirit goes
To mould & refashion me
In the likeness of His image as in the days of old.

What do I owe, how do I pay, when do I return,
All that HE did, does & will do for me?
Can I ever repay, will I ever reimburse, do I ever reciprocate
All HIS love did, does & will do for me?

No, ten thousand times no,
Never can I recompense, remunerate or repay the debt
HE paid for me, pays for me & will pay for me!

Teach me to
Receive with grace,
Respond with thanks &
Reiterate with faith
The love of my heart,
The intimacy of my soul &
The strength of my body,
O Triune God of my life!

LOVE, WHAT IT IS

Love is not just an emotion or an act of the will,
Love is the very being of God Himself!
Love is not just an option or a choice,
Love is just being human with poise!

Love is operating in the nature of God,
Love is being filled with the presence of God!
Love is what makes us go the extra mile,
Love is what helps to do with a smile!

Love is what makes the world go round,
Love is what makes joy to resound.
Loves is what makes it fully versatile,
Love is what fills it daily with new life!

Love makes the routine a thrill,
Love embellishes the mundane with a frill.
Love makes the normal a work of art,
Love enflames the natural with a spark!

Love is what made Him pay the price,
Love is what caused Him not to think twice.
Love will help us go on even when it’s risky,
Love will enable us to trust even when it’s not easy!

ONE & ONLY

My God is skilled in creating,
He can start with little or nothing,
Make it in to a great something
Who is like Him with small beginning!

My God is skilled in the providing,
He can take a small supplying,
Make it sufficient by multiplying,
Who is like Him in miracle working!

My God is awesome in compassion,
He can look beyond the assumption,
Make the sinner a saint by absolution,
Who is like Him in salvation and redemption!

My God is not restricted by weakness,
He can heal and relieve any sickness,
Make free from crippling mental illness,
Who is like Him in restoring brokenness!

My God is incomparable in true love,
He can never really reject or disapprove,
Make no mistake for He is the gentle dove,
Who is like Him on earth and in heaven above!

NO REGRETS

I sit here on the first day of the year, musing on the past, present and future. I come to one conclusion: Life is too short!

As the years go by, I see that one can work hard for money and possessions, but cannot earn the years to enjoy them. I conclude: Life is a gift!

I watch the parade of time, events, seasons, changes and people. I note the increase of depression, suicide, murder, abortion, death and I decide: Life is a choice!

Life is a gift, so don’t squander it. To each one is given an endowment of seconds, minutes, days and years. It may be large or small, nevertheless it is a trust. Be thankful for your inheritance. Rejoice in it. Enjoy it. Invest it and in it. Make it mean something, a thing of beauty and worth, for yourself and others. Don’t waste time, energy and resources given to you by hankering after those that are not given to you.

Life is a choice, to be lived or not, to exist or not, to enjoy or just pass time. Live fully everyday for the next may not be yours. Life is not a bed of roses, for sure as there is a waxing and a waning, day and night, gain and loss. Remember flowers bloom at night as well as in the day. Tides do ebb and flow. There is a beauty in darkness as well as in light. Learn to enjoy every season by adapting yourself its demands. Life is a dynamic flow and never a static stillness. You either resist and wear yourself out or move with it and be transformed. Choose to live.

Life is too short to be wasted with regretting your actions and reactions. Keep short accounts and don’t build up long lists by letting the sun go down on anger. It’s healthier to love and forgive than to bear grudge and become bitter. King Solomon the Wise said that a merry heart is like a medicine but a broken spirit dries the bones. So strengthen yourself with love, laughter and life. Don’t become old too quickly by being rigid and stiff, but maintain youthfulness by being flexible and pliant.

Above all, let’s not waste life by neglecting or misusing people, for their life too is short. Before you know, people are gone from this world, passed on to a place of no return. The most precious yet the most ignored entity and resource on planet earth is humankind. Each single person is an unique individual whose loss leaves a vacuum that nothing can ever fill or compensate. Don’t be hasty to cast off or throw aside people for they are not disposables. We grieve and lament when someone has moved on, but won’t it be better if we learnt to appreciate and value when they are still with us!

Let’s choose to live life to the fullest, this new year, with health and strength, as much as possible with no regrets whatsoever!

I MARRIED YOU

Living together with another you can’t live without,
Butterflies in the stomach is not what it’s all about!
It’s not even about being treated like royalty,
For that’s such an unsustainable reality!

It’s not about looking good or pretty enough,
It’s not about fetch and carry or doing other stuff!
It’s not about agreeing or not fighting,
It’s all about of who you are thinking!

Love is not just an emotion or even a motivation,
Love is not just an option or even a reciprocation!
Love is actually the choice of going beyond oneself,
Love is being in the image of God Himself!

Love is what makes the world go round,
Loves is what keeps us coming again and around!
Love transforms the mundane and the normal,
Love moves the natural to the supernatural!

TIME PAUSE

Time passes so quickly by,
Moments often go fleeting by,
Life is just simply flying by,
I can only hold memories with a sigh!

I don’t regret the past
Nor crib that it didn’t last
I do wish it hadn’t gone so fast
Though I cannot say I did have a blast!

I’ve sowed in tears with many a fear,
I’ve floundered in doubts with many a debt,
I’ve cringed with aches with many a mistake,
I have survived a thousand brawls with many a wrong call!

I wish I had my life lived much better,
Without the burden of thoughts oh so bitter.
I yearn to have loved much more sincere
Not sticking so too close to the letter!

What more awaits me in the years ahead,
I have no real clue, I have no certain lead.
All I have is His promise, all I need to know is His Word,
For He has in the wilderness a table spread!

PRECIOUS THINGS

God gives uncut diamonds into our hands,
Offering the best that He can sand.
Rough edges, raw wedges, uncouth dredges they maybe,
Handled with love, chiseled with care, scintillating pieces they’ll turn to be!

Every child is His true gift of love,
Given freely to a murky world.
Sweet tokens of His pleasant favor
Ever unworthy we’re to even claim.

Innocent but we cast them aside,
Shoving them on the rubbish heap!
Sovereign gold crafted with grace
Oh what preciousness we constantly waste!

Treasures bestowed just at our feet
Stewards we must be to earn our keep.
Woe to the ones who trample them down
Wicked to the core, I shudder at their doom!

God gives uncut diamonds into our hands,
One, two or even three, the best that He can sand.
Rough edges, raw wedges, uncouth dredges they seem to be,
Handled with love, chiseled with care, scintillating pieces they turn out to be!

EACH and every child is His gift of love
Sent to show His care to a fallen world.
Tokens of favor communicating a word of faith
Sovereigns of pure gold crafted in exquisite mould!

Messengers of purity sent by His grace,
Waters of life flowing crystal and clear
Stars of hope, lamps of light, they brighten a dark day
Flowers of beauty, fragrance of heaven, they cover the stench of sin!

Innocent though they be, we cast them aside
Throwing them often on the rubbish heap!
Travelling afar not knowing what they’ll meet
Oh what preciousness we waste in hasty takes!

Treasures they are given into our keep
Stewards we must be and handle with care.
Woe to the ones who trample them unseen
What will their fate be only He can share!

LES MOUSQUETAIRES

MAY19TH.jpg

We were inseparable, as neighbors, Sunday school friends, schoolmates, college roomies together everywhere.

Our regular haunt, this diner. The owners knew us and our preferences. Didn’t need to order.

We spent holidays together – cycling, swimming, sleepovers, book reading, sightseeing.

Our parents always knew where to find us. You found one, you found the others.

We shared it all – exam scares, teen woes, career struggles, love pains etc.

People marveled, seeing we were red and yellow, black and white.

Oh, we did have our fights & squabbles. Nothing lasted.

Until marriage, kids & families. We flew apart. Too busy to connect. Until today.
